World Economic Forum held at VIADER! Executive Chef Mariela Viader worked side-by-side with world-renowned Chef Alice Waters of Chez Panisse (in the San Francisco Bay Area) to create the right ambiance for the attendees of the esteemed economic think tank. The WEF, usually held in Davos, Switzerland, invited respected international economists and CEOs from the Bay Area as well as around the world to the Tasting Room at VIADER. The guests were treated to daytime meals, and an elegant twilight dinner on the VIADER estate.

Each year the Napa Valley Vintners create a special barrel auction, "Premiere Napa Valley," inviting the top wine industry professionals. VIADER has created a special SINGLE barrel of 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, to be bottled separately for the Premiere event. This wine will only be available through the channels of the highest bidder. We offer a savory Argentine-style barbecue lunch and tasty empanadas hors d'oeuvres, paired with new release and library VIADER wines out of magnums (1.5L). Special pricing on magnums of the new release one day only. At VIADER, our red wine grapes ripen later in the season, and so guests will be able to see the fruit at its peak, right at the start of this crucial turning point on the vine. Price for lunch is $35 (same as regular tasting).

Vintage Affaire is one of the largest wine auctions in California and benefits Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Palo Alto. Over the past 26 years, Vintage Affaire has raisednearly $5.5 million for the Center. The funds raised at Vintage Affaire enable Vista Center clients to achieve their highest potential through programs that promote independence and improve the quality of life.This summer, Vintage Affaire will take place on Saturday, June 27 in the gardens of a private estate in Atherton. The event will begin at 3:30 with a silent auction, wine and food tasting, followed by an elegant sit-down dinner following the live auction.

Guests are invited to taste current releases produced by Delia Viader, Argentine-born founder of VIADER, and dance Tango in the tasting room transformed into la pista de baile (dancefloor.) Note: Slate floor, leather-soled shoes advised. Tango performance by Jonathan and Olivia in traditional Gavito style and DJ music by Lee Hocker.

Delia Viader, founding owner/winemaker of VIADER, Napa Valley, has been selected as a presenter on Cabernet Franc production in the United States for “The Rome International Focus Conference on Cabernet Franc,” the featured topic of the Merano International WineFestival (MIWF) taking place February 12-14, 2010 in Rome, Italy.
Viader will be presenting among her colleagues including Jean Claude Berrouet, winemaker at Petrus, and Kees Van Leeuwen of Ch. Cheval Blanc, Marchese Niccolo Incisa della Rocchetta of Tuscany and Luca D’Attoma of Italy. Also confirmed are Jean-Max Manceau of Chinon, Vincent Dupuch of France, and Angelo Pavan of Canada. The conference aims to highlight Cabernet Franc and the growing international appreciation of the variety by winemakers and consumers alike in various parts of the world. The panel of world-class experts will be moderated by Ian D’Agata, Italian wine critic for Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar.

Hold on to your fedoras and feather boas and step back into the "Roaring Twenties" as we showcase our Premiere Napa Valley 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon barrel selection. This wine represents the 20th harvest at the VIADER estate. Twenty (20) cases of this unique barrel of Cabernet Sauvignon will be donated to Premiere Napa Valley's annual industry wine auction, where owners of restaurants, retail outlets, or distributorships will bid on wines created especially for this event. Current release wines will also be featured.
Although this is a trade-focused event, we are extending the opportunity to the general public. No cost to attend.
